A recent purchase I made of the little Toyota RAV4(pictured) got me thinking on how hard it is to check everything before buying a new car. Even though I’ve spent the best part of 25years buying & selling cars I wasn’t smart enough to see the fly in this RAV4′s ointment.

You see, if you look closely enough you’ll notice that some cheapskate has decided to change the wheels – but only two of them! The left side has the original plain jane wheels whereas the right side has the trendier upgraded wheels.

How so ever they where changed; whether due to an road accident, buckled by mounting a kerb too sprightly or the original wheels stolen, it just goes to show you – no matter how careful or meticulous you are buying your next car, always allow for a “would you believe it” moment every now and then.

then again, as the saying goes;

“a man who never made a mistake, never made anything”
